The HealthyStyled Journey

My name is Kathy Chraghchian and I am an LA based Pediatric Culinary Dietitian. My career started at the WIC (Women, Infants, and Children) program where I worked as an administrative Dietitian. Besides managing WIC centers, I mostly enjoyed helping families to create nutritious meals on a budget.

A few years later, I took time off to tackle motherhood, while volunteering at schools to help with their nutrition programs. I continued working on different projects and received a certificate in Childhood and Adolescent weight management.

In 2019, I attended the 2nd annual Culinary Nutrition Conference in NY where Dietitians and health professionals use cooking as a teaching tool for nutrition and medical treatment and that’s when I created HealthyStyled.

HealthyStyled offers kids and teens an opportunity to create while learning nutrition. The students cook mindfully using all their senses and learn about the ingredients to create a nutritious, delicious meal.

I was featured on GoodDay LA on Fox to talk about the importance of bringing kids into the kitchen and was invited back to create snacks during the Super Bowl-Super Sunday program and Back to school snack ideas.

My Philosophy

My nutrition philosophy for kids is quite simple,
I don’t believe in good or bad foods, but some foods are better for you and those foods should be consumed more!
That’s the reason my students are exposed to a variety of fruits, vegetables, herbs and spices in my classes.
I believe all foods can fit in a well balanced lifestyle without depravation.

My Family

I am very grateful to my husband for always supporting my work and providing me with herbs and vegetables from our garden:
he’s the one with the green thumb. My kids are always supportive since they, too, love to eat and create dishes.
My daughter started cooking from a very young age and loves to bake.
My son is the Grill Master in the family and my taste tester 🙂

My Healthy Lifestyle

When I’m not in the kitchen, I love being outdoors.
A few of my favorite things include; morning walks, cycling and Sunday brunch.
