Ask the Dietitian
It’s combining the Art of Cooking with the Science of Nutrition. In HealthyStyled classes, kids are given the opportunity to awaken their senses and cook mindfully while learning about how each ingredient helps nourish their body.
Students should bring their own water bottle, labeled with their name. They will be able to refill it during class. Students should not bring any outside food. Snacks/food will be provided in class.
My students are anywhere from ages 6 to 14. Please contact me if your child is not within this age range and I’d be happy to discuss options.
The classes are taught by Registered Dietitians, who have extensive experience working with youth. There are also assistants with experience in working with this population.
Food allergies are assessed during registration.
Kids Culinary Nutrition workshops (ages 6-14) teen classes (ages 13 and up) camps, Holiday theme classes, private sessions, Mommy/Daddy and me classes (ages 4 and up).
The classes are ages 6-14 and drop off only. Parents can sign up for Mommy and Me classes.
All students must wear closed-toe shoes and can wear comfortable clothes to class.
Students will have the opportunity to use a variety of tools such as cookie cutters, rolling pins & kid-friendly plastic knifes. Potentially sharp or hot items will only be used with an instructor’s assistance.
Kitchen safety and hygiene are extremely important in my class. I take the time to show students how to use proper hand hygiene to prevent foodborne illness. I also review the process of using kitchen tools, which are all safe for children.
Class session days and times vary. On average, one class is 2 hours long.
I never force my students to try a food that they don’t like. Rather, I encourage them to try new foods on the table and ask them to use their different senses to tell me about the ingredients in class.
Students will have the opportunity to prepare a variety of different foods from cuisines all around the world. I plan fun and easy recipes for students so they can get creative & try new things.
Not at all! I design my classes for all experience levels. Occasionally, classes are held at different experience levels, but specification is made beforehand.
At HealthyStyled offers an opportunity for students to learn about cooking, food safety, and nutrition. Students will have fun, gain experience, and get creative!
